Spanning 22 years, this double-disc, 36-track compilation chronicles the initially unlikely and ultimately triumphant conflation of a failing, veteran English neo-blues band (Mick Fleetwood and the McVies) with a pair of mercurial American also-rans (the baroque folk-rock genius Lindsey Buckingham and crypto-songbird Stevie Nicks). The creative alchemy was immediate, as 15 epochal tracks ("Dreams," "Say You Love Me," "The Chain," "Don't Stop") from Fleetwood Mac and Rumours here attest. They could have arguably repeated that mega-successful formula for a decade, but chose a more musically expansive tack, represented "Sara," Think About Me" and the other core tracks drawn from the ambitious Tusk. While the band's megahit luster faded as the solo careers of Buckingham and Nicks took flight in the '80s, their power was still apparent in the dusky-bright pop of Christine McVie's "Hold Me" and "Little Lies." Sequenced with compelling listening rather than chronology in mind, this set also includes the strongest of the Mac's latter-day recordings (Nicks's "Paper Doll," "Silver Springs," and "No Questions Asked"; McVie's "As Long As You Follow"), as well the Lindsey Buckingham showcases "Go Insane" and "Big Love" from '97's The Dance. --Jerry McCulley

I own nearly every album the 'Mac' have released.
This collection is very solid & perhaps a very good place to start, but I recommend getting the deluxe editions of "Fleetwood Mac" & "Rumours", then moving to the deluxe "Tusk" - now that they are available.
I say this specifically because the compilers choose specific versions of some of their key songs & I believe they chose the lesser mix in several cases. With the deluxe editions, you can compare for yourself.
Diving deeper into Lindsey Buckingham's creativity is worth the investment! |

This 2-CD collection is awesome and impressive.
The songs are from the first years to recent years.
I wanted songs with Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Lindsey Buckingham.
This collection has all three singers.
The songs took me back a few years.
I am very glad that I found this collection.

I order the following CD, however i have never received the CD and it has been over a month i placed the order. I tried contacting the seller and and till this day i have not received a response for either one. So i pretty much got riped off and i will never buy anything from this seller and if does not respond soon i will not purchase anything else though this site.
I am very disappointed, i have used to purshase CD, DVD and Book and have always been satisfed however i am not pleased that i have paid for a item and i have not received the CD and i cannot get a responds from either party. |
