| The attachment wasn't all that I expected. I had thought it woud trim small brush as easily as the string trimmer trims grass. It takes a little longer, but it does a good job. |

| Works moderately well. I have a RYOBI trimmer and the Poulan Brush cutter attachment fits it just fine. I had no trouble hooking it to my trimmer and using it. I expected it to obliterate viney things but the blade is quite blunt causing clearing work to be not as easy as I expected. It is almost like it is engineered for safety to the point of not slicing through brush as much as I liked. Sharpening the blade is not something you are meant to do (understandable). The blade fitting is bigger than a circular saw blade so you cannot slap one on and really endanger yourself. |

The brush cutter only works effectively if you use it at full speed and with a relatively fast movement to cut larger weeds. Don't expect to use it to do the same job as the trimmer, it won't cut smaller grass.
The good thing is that this comes with a shoulder strap and an extra handle that really improve the handling of the machine (even for the trimmer). It is easy to switch to the trimmer but you might have to switch often if you have a mix of big weeds and smaller things to cut.
I don't know if another blade would do better but the original blade does not seem very sharp. Protections are good and this remains a must have if you need to cut larger weeds that you can't cut with the trimmer. |
