A peeler's only as good as its blade, right? So OXO, with its clever design team, developed a blade that can always be sharp. Not only is the cutting edge on their extra long stainless blade precision ground, like a fine knife, for a sharper edge, it's also replaceable. And of course you get the non-slip comfy grip you expect from an OXO tool.

I love this peeler. If you use it, you'll understand the accolade! It's easy to hold, has a very comfortable grip, and doesn't cause muscle fatigue. Peeling with one of those long, thin peelers makes my hand ache way before I've defrocked enough spuds for the salad or apples for the pie. Anyway, this weekend I peeled about five pounds of yukon golds without whining, slicing off a part of a finger, pretending to faint, or setting a diversion fire in the den. The peeler belonged to a friend; I not only commandeered it for the potatoes, but also unobtrusively tucked it in my purse when the coast was clear. The Oxo Good Grips i-series Y Peeler (just ask for it by name if you want people to look at you funny) works sliding up or sliding down, which makes for some much-needed variety in a very monotonous chore. It was so easy to use, after I did my stint with the potatoes, I volunteered to make zucchini, carrot and cucumber ribbons for use as garnish and for inclusion in the salad (even though I don't consider any of that trio to be "food" in the sense of tasting good or being something I would ever eat). In summary, unless things pick up a bit, this peeler may well be the highpoint of my summer.

This peeler is very easy to use. Comfortable handle makes gripping it easier. Easy to wash and clean. The blade is very nicely placed to avoid any accidental cuts and nicks. Been using this for the better part of 2 yrs now and it still retains its sharpness. Very good item. Highly recommended.

I'm actually quite surprised there are so many good reviews and none that are negative. I almost lost my finger using this. :( It was quite a traumatic experience. I never had a knife cause this kind of damage so easily. Please be extra careful if you use this. Even better if you use a protective glove. I'm sticking with the Oxo Good Grips Swivel Peeler, which is an excellent peeler and inexpensive.

I abosolutely love this peeler. It is the best I have ever used. It has weight to it that others don't have and fits comfortably in your hand. It feels so well-balanced!
