Surprisingly, no book of quotations on God and religion by atheists and agnostics exists. Luckily, for the millions of American nonbelievers who have quietly stewed for years as the religious right made gains in politics and culture, the wait is over. Bestselling author Jack Huberman's zeitgeist sense has honed into the backlash building against religious fundamentalism and collected a veritable treasure trove of quotes by philosophers, scientists, poets, writers, artists, entertainers, and political figures. His colorful cast of atheists includes Karen Armstrong, Lance Armstrong, Jules Feiffer, Federico Fellini, H. L. Mencken, Ian McKellen, Isaac Singer, Jonathan Swift, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Virginia Woolf and the Marquis de Sade.

| This book's a must read for us "Hell-Bound" types. Reading just one page at a time works because the author quotes many one-liners. A casual, informative, often chuckle-making read. |
| Great coffee table book | 2010-01-29 | 4 / 5 |

| My one and only complaint about this book is that there is no index of the people who are quoted. It is alphabetical by quoter's last name, so it's not much of a difference. |
| WRONG quote from the bible! | 2010-01-20 | 1 / 5 |

| I found a good quote in this book. Supposedly from the book of psalms. I blindly posted it on facebook and was immediately smacked down by my christian friends. Upon checking, the quote is NOT there (not even close) and apparently not even in the bible at all...as far as I could tell. That did NOT make me happy. |
| The Author ruins this book | 2009-12-21 | 3 / 5 |

| Great quotes but cited very poorly. At some points I was wondering if some of this was doctored just to fit his view. I'm an atheist and I found this book to be a bit elementary. I had a real problem with the author's sarcastic jabs in the middle of quotes. Leave the quote alone Mr. Huberman, it stands on it's own just fine - we don't need your sub par wit to guide us along. He really ruined it for me and weakens the case, in my opinion, for Atheism. |

| I really liked this book. As an atheist, it's great. For anyone else, I have the feeling that they would end up offended. |
